Spot Details
They plow the road all the way to the summit ville mine super fund site till Nov 1st and begin to plow it some time in march. There is a ghost town just north west of the valley you will kite in. This location takes about 1.25 hrs drive from highway 160. So bring the family to explore the ghost town and make a day out of it. I would suggest a 4x4 but you can make it with two wheel drive, chains are a must have if things get slick and always travel in a group. The elevation is above 11,000ft so be prepared for sudden weather changes and have gear to stay the night just in case you get blocked in by an avalanche or get stuck. And let some one know you are on the mountain and what to do if you don't return when expected. there is no cell service out there!!!
